JP Academic Peer Review Process
All book/book chapter submitted to us for consideration and publication are assigned to an Editor. The assigned Editor conducts an editorial review to determine the book/book chapter's compliance with the book project scope, having sound research methods and findings. The editor manages and sends the manuscript for a double-blind peer-review process.
Reviewers are an essential aspect of a scholarly publishing process. The peer-review process is used in any book/book chapter to validate scholarly work and improve the quality of our published work, and increased research community networking. We adopt and apply a double-blind peer-review process.
Steps in the peer-review process
- Every book/book chapter received is first checked by the respective editor to determine whether it is suitable for the book project scope and quality. The editor also looks at the readability, structure, and grammar before considering it for the double-blind peer-review process.
- After the initial assessment, the editor checks for plagiarism.
- Following the plagiarism check, the book/book chapter is sent to two or three reviewers for appraisal. Reviewers send back the book/book chapter after the appraisal for further processing by the editorial office.
- Once the review process is completed, the editorial chair releases the reports to the author/s. The author/s are requested to respond to reviewers’ comments and suggestions and to effect the necessary corrections. After the authors respond to the reviewers, the book/book chapter is resent to the editorial chair for further appraisal and consideration.
- The editorial chair accepts, rejects, or returns the paper to the author effect any minor alternations.
- If the book/book chapter is accepted, the author will be requested to submit the final revision. Before publication, Camera-Ready versions are sent to the authors for confirmation. No further editing will be allowed after confirmation.
The Editor makes a decision base on the overall assessment and quality of the book/book chapter reviewers’ recommendations. According to JP Academic policy, the Editor’s decisions are made within two months from the day the manuscript was submitted. Authors remain with the book/book chapter's copyright, while JP Academic will be permitted to distribute it across different online (scholarly) databases.
